Block 4 (2:47-3:30 pm)6th - 8th Grade (Weeks 4-6)PopularBlock 4 options for weeks 4-6 Piano Pals: Dive into the world of piano with fun, interactive group lessons designed to build foundational skills, boost confidence through games, and performance practice tailored for middle schoolers. Students will explore music theory, develop their own musical ideas, and perform for their peers in a supportive, social setting. Urban Planning and Design: Design your dream city in this interactive course! Students will learn about architecture, sustainability, and urban planning while creating detailed models. Lego Robotics: Build robots using LEGO kits while learning coding basics. Students will complete challenges that test their engineering creativity and problem-solving skills. Speed Stacks: Master the fast-paced sport of cup stacking! This class builds hand-eye coordination, focus, and speed through individual practice and group competitions. Please choose one class for the block. If insufficient enrollment occurs for an elective, the Morris School District reserves the right to modify or cancel the course. Hidden Gems of The Twilight Zone SeriesFilm & TVMorris Adult School brings you another season of the Twilight Zone Series with new episodes. There are several well-known episodes of The Twilight Zone that usually make the top ten lists. But what about those that are frequently overlooked but clearly reflect the success factors of the groundbreaking television program? The production of these episodes is exemplary, the acting is a perfect match to the characters and the writing is superb. These episodes are often called Hidden Gems. They may not be widely known or recognized, but they are quintessential examples that helped put THE TWILIGHT ZONE in a class by itself. This season we will explore five of these episodes and evaluate what makes them distinctively excellent. After watching the episodes together, we will discover how they could earn a spot on their own top ten list. Additionally, writers, performers and backstories will be spotlighted. Parallels will be drawn to other relevant films and literature. We have scheduled 5 individual Twilight Zone sessions. You can register for however many sessions you want but when you register for more than one session, you will receive UP to a 20% discount. Kindergarten - 2nd GradeSummer PlusThe Summer Plus program, hosted by the Community School of Morris School District, offers an engaging and enriching summer experience for rising K to 8 students (students who will be in kindergarten through 8th grade in September 2025). The program is open to both in-district and out-of-district students. Running from June 30 to August 8, 2025 (closed July 4), the program operates Monday through Friday. For rising K-8 students, the program runs from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM at Frelinghuysen Middle School. Please click here to learn more about Kindergarten through 2nd Grade programming. Students participating in this program will not choose Summer Plus electives. Additionally, the Summer Music Academy will run for four weeks from Monday through Friday from June 30 to July 25, 2025 (closed July 4), serving rising grades 4-12 students. The program will operate from 8 AM to 12 PM at Frelinghuysen Middle School. This program is open to both in-district and out-of-district students, providing an opportunity for instrumental music students to engage in comprehensive music education through small group lessons, large ensembles, and music electives. Please click to enroll. Registration closes April 30, 2025. Summer Plus is a Fee Based Program and tuition is required to participate. There is a non refundable registration fee of $50 per child, which will not exceed $100 per family. This registration fee will be charged when you submit your child's application for enrollment. The Community School will send an invoice to families beginning April 1, 2025 and you will have the option of paying your balance in full or in three equal payments. We will offer Sunrise morning care from 7:00 am until 8:00 am and Sunset after care from 3:30 pm until 5:30 pm for an additional fee. PopularSummer Music AcademySummer Music AcademyEnrollment Process Great news! We are fully staffed and able to accept all rising students in grades 4 through 12. The waitlist feature is no longer in use, and all applicants will be enrolled directly into the program. How to Enroll Click to Enroll: When you click to enroll in the Summer Music Academy, your child will be added to our roster. There is no longer a waitlist or waitlist message—your spot is confirmed! Automatic Enrollment and Payment: Upon enrollment, a $100 deposit will be automatically charged to your account. The remaining balance will be charged in three installments: April 30th, May 15th and June 15th Each payment will be $200 for full-pay families, or $100 for families qualifying for free/reduced lunch. Full Tuition Payment Option: If you prefer to pay the full tuition ($700) at once, please call our office at (973) 292-2063 ext. 8315 and we will help you with that process. Instrument and Elective Selection: After enrollment, we will contact you to confirm your child’s main instrument and assign elective choices based on their preferences. This process ensures that all students have an equal opportunity to participate and allows us to organize classes and electives based on student interests and instrument distribution.
