Block 2 options for weeks 1 - 3 Chemistry in the Kitchen 3-5: B Discover the science behind cooking in this fun, hands-on class. Students will conduct edible experiments, learn about chemical reactions, and explore the delicious world where science meets the kitchen. Lego Robotics 3-5: B Unleash your inner engineer and programmer with Lego Robotics! Students will work in teams to design, build, and program robots using LEGO® Education kits. They'll learn about coding, problem-solving, and teamwork as they tackle exciting challenges and bring their robotic creations to life. This class is being run by an outside provider; Snapology of Livingston NJ. Possible courses include: RoboPets, Mega Machines, Attackbots, and Space Wars. Click here to learn more about Snapology. Container Gardening and Community Service: Combine your love for gardening with giving back to the community! Students will learn how to create beautiful and productive container gardens while understanding the importance of sustainable agriculture. They will cultivate plants and vegetables, and then donate a portion of their harvest to local organizations, learning valuable lessons about community service and helping others 3D Art: Clay: Get hands-on with clay in this sculpting class. Students will learn basic techniques to create three-dimensional artworks, developing their spatial awareness and creativity. TREP$ (4th and 5th Only): B Young entrepreneurs will love this program! Students will learn the basics of running a business, from product development to marketing and sales, all while applying practical math skills. Field Sports: Experience a variety of outdoor sports in this energetic class. Students will learn the rules and basic skills of popular field sports while developing teamwork and sportsmanship. Block 3 options for weeks 1 - 3 Make and Take: In this hands-on science class, students will conduct exciting experiments and create take-home projects. They'll explore various scientific principles while crafting items they can use and enjoy at home. iMovie Basics: Lights, camera, action! Students will learn to create and edit short films using iMovie. They'll explore storytelling through video, basic editing techniques, and how to add music and special effects to their creations. Astronaut Training: Embark on a space adventure! Students will engage in hands-on activities simulating astronaut training, learning about space science, and developing problem-solving skills as they prepare for imaginary missions to the stars. Jewelry and Beading 3-5: Design and create your own wearable art! Students will learn various beading and jewelry-making techniques, exploring color combinations and patterns to make unique accessories. Eco Math Heroes: Combine math skills with environmental awareness in this unique course. Students will use math to solve real-world ecological problems, learning how numbers can help save the planet. Co-op Games: Foster teamwork and communication through cooperative games and challenges. Students will engage in non-competitive activities that promote collaboration, problem-solving, and social skills. Please choose one class for the block.
